Dear Parents

World Book Day

World Book Day had an unusual twist this year where each child created a representation of their favourite story book in a Pickle jar inspired by the book called, ‘The Planet in a Pickle Jar’.

The children shared their jars with their twinned classes who enjoyed their time talking about the stories and artefacts in the jars.  You can find photographs on Twitter.

Tam, our chef from TnS created an eye-catching display of her favourite cookery books alongside some of our favourite foods. I wonder where our budding chefs are who like reading recipes and creating delicious dishes?

Story Jar Exhibition

Don’t forget that the story jars will be exhibited on Monday after school.  We will be able to leave them out so that people can see them in the Ignite Studio/hall on Tuesday morning from 8.45am at drop off.

Parking with Care

A local resident has sent photographs that show parking on both sides of Milverton Crescent which endangers pedestrians as well as it causing disruption to motorists attempting to drive along Milverton Crescent.

We have very recently contacted our PCSO to raise on-going issues regarding parking outside the school grounds and have also informed Andrew Kilbride, our local councillor.

Year 6 Football Match

The Year 6 football team played an excellent game against Kings Heath Primary School on Thursday after school and won 10:0. Miss Peal and Miss Ottaway have coached an enthusiastic and skilled set of individuals and gelled them into a highly effective team.  There was a great atmosphere as they played in the sunshine.

Year 1 Trips to Abington Park Museum

Our Year 1 historians have been visiting Abington Park Museum this week.  They explored Victorian toys and took part in a workshop exploring moving toys, toys with sound and compared Victorian toys to today's toys from a porcelain doll and rag dolls to barbies.  Thank you to the Year 1 team and the parent helpers who supported the classes to walk across the park and discover exciting exhibits in the museum.  The children loved tiddly winks!

Have a lovely weekend

Mrs Alison Harvey
