Dear Parents

Big Sing Young Voices

It’s been a busy week with one highlight being, once again, getting the whole school together on the field to take part in the Big Sing world record attempt.  You can find us singing, ‘Lovely Day’, by Bill Withers on Twitter where we joined the rest of the country to break the world record and support children’s mental health.

National Gallery – Take One Picture Exhibition

Miss Williams the Art leader and I were invited to the National Gallery on Wednesday evening and were very proud to see our Nursery’s exhibit on a screen in the exhibition.  It looked beautiful alongside all the other impressive work by children from around the country based around the painting, ‘The Battle of San Romano’.  If you are in London in the summer and get the chance you could pop in to the gallery to see the exhibition for yourselves.

Barnwell Country Park

4 Fraser and 4 Wiltshire had some lovely days at Barnwell Country Park developing their field work skills and were a credit to the school.  Y4 Milhaze have this trip to look forward to on Monday.

Library Tree Bookshelves

There is a picture of the new library shelves on Twitter that Mrs Tasher ordered.  It is a tree and looks fantastic in the new space.  Mrs Tasher works so hard to make it a lovely library space which motivates and inspires our readers with a variety of books to meet everyone’s interests.

Covid-19 rules

Can we remind you that whilst you are on school premises to continue to wear masks please and maintain social distancing when queuing as we have to remember that covid-19 cases in Northampton have risen by 166%!  If parents are exempt, for whatever reason, can they please advise the office or wear your exemption lanyard.  We are hoping that if people adhere to the rules that we won’t have to go back to staggered starts again.

The gate opens at 8.40 am so could people not arrive too early creating close contact in the queue. Many children arrived very early this morning and were soaked in the rain.

I hope the weather cheers up for the Sports Days on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next and Y2 are off to Salcey Forest on their adventures on Tuesday.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend

Alison Harvey
