Dear Parents

You may have heard about our surprise visitor who had travelled all the way from the North Pole yesterday.  The joy on the children’s faces, young and old, was priceless.  Thank you Santa.

I really enjoyed watching the Nursery Christmas Performance.  It made me smile all the way through.  I loved the singing and the snowflake jiggle dance.

The Reception Nativity, A Bundle of Joy, was delightful.  I loved all your costumes and I thought you spoke really clearly and sang beautifully.

The Year 1 Christingle film is beautiful, where they told us about the Christingle and the Nativity story with clear voices and sang so sweetly; it was lovely to hear Away in a Manger.

I really enjoyed watching the Year 2 production, The Angel Who Nearly Missed It All and was delighted that she got there in the end!  They all had lovely big clear speaking voices and their singing and acting was super.

I’m listening to the Year 3 performance which has always been held in the church until this year.  It’s beautiful and gives me hope for the future and that we might be back in the church one day.

The Year 6 Christmas Soirée is really beautiful and very moving as they sing their carols with a back drop of their WW1 home learning projects.  Their work shows their individual interpretation of events which are respectful and poignant.  They end the soirée with a hilarious rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas.  Well done Year 6.

The orchestra have filmed a wonderful rendition of Jingle bells – I wondered what they were getting up to.  Brilliant!

Well done to everyone for their amazing efforts with the Christmas windows! It was a real adventure for the children to explore and lovely to see them waving through the windows. However, there can only be 1 winner. Congratulations go to 2 Magritte with their window 'Warm hugs' - you are our winner!  Also, well done to EY’s 'Winter wonderland' who came a close second. Thank you for organising this Miss McDonnell.

A big thank you to Michael Jones Jewellers. Their £500 donation has been spent on providing children with good quality texts across the school to support reading.

Thank you for your generous donations as we have raised a significant amount of funds for charity this Christmas, as follows:

 ·        Children in Need - £684.24

·        Save the Children - £361.81

·        Vulnerable Young Adults - £266.34

·        The Hope Centre - £200.32

We are pleased to be able to let you know that from next term Miss Tsang will be the HLTA in Year 6, Mr Howard will be in Year 4 and Mrs Cressey will be in Year 2.

Special thanks to our amazing school team who have gone over and above this year providing a very close to normal school experience for our children.  They are so nurturing and supportive but never took their eyes off the learning and kept plates spinning while remaining calm and focused.

Have a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.

Alison Harvey
