The Three Billy Goats Gruff Projector Art

This week in Early Years we have been learning about the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff. The children have loved talking about the characters, what they look like, and have been writing “Wow” words to describe them in a sentence.

The children worked in small groups to produce a troll and three Billy Goats to display in the classroom alongside their beautiful handwriting. An image of each character was projected onto a flip chart and the children traced around the silhouette independently. They needed to use their problem solving skills and work out a particular way of standing so they didn’t block the light with their own shadow. Next they painted the characters and added embellishments such as eyelashes, hair and nails. Although each class produced four characters, they were all unique in their own way.

Why don’t you come and find our displays in the classrooms? Which grumpy troll is your favourite?
