An exciting start to 2018

We started 2018 with great excitement. Early Years have been building bridges everywhere and in every form for the ‘Three Billy Goats Gruff’. Y1 discovered some giants footsteps leading to a giant beanstalk and have received several letters from the giant himself. Y2 discovered some beautiful golden eggs, which according to a letter from the Natural History Museum could be dragons eggs. Y3 used their map work skills to solve a treasure hunt around the grounds. Y4 as historians are finding out about our local history in Northamptonshire. Y5 were shocked to find a rocket with smoke coming from it which had crash landed in the pond. Later an alientologist, Dr Poppy, came to visit and share her knowledge only to lift the blinds and discover ectoplasm on the windows. The next day Miss Brimble didn’t arrive at school which concerned us all, then she turned up later in the morning covered in green slime, claiming to have been abducted by friendly aliens. Y6 have been inspired by the amazing book ‘Clockwork’ by Philip Pullman and can’t put it down.

As a consequence of all this excitement we have got some amazing writing from the children and are going to create a river of writing in the long corridor in the Inspire building with some examples from all the year groups.
