Bridgewater e-News

Dear Parents

Great news - Bridgewater has acquired the Gold Sports Mark!

Thank you to Miss Conroy, Miss Barker and Mrs Coleman, who have put a lot of work in to ensure the provision at Bridgewater is at a Gold standard.  Well done to all the children for taking part in so many sports and taking up the challenge of the daily mile and also a big well done to our Young Leaders, who have led playground games at lunchtimes.

We are keeping our fingers crossed for a couple of sunny sports days next month; the team have planned the event so that there will be a fun sport for everyone to enjoy.

Although the week has been very wet, there has been lots of activity both in and outside of school.

Y5 enjoyed orienteering in Abington Park today and all made it safely back to Bridgewater – well done.

Y1 made their own lunch today; healthy pizzas from scratch and they were very excited to have their indoor picnic.  There will be some pictures on the blog of the children sharing this experience with their friends.

Well done to 5 Gaudi who had a fantastic day on Monday cycling and sailing around Pitsford Reservoir; the rain certainly didn’t dampen their spirits!

Independent Music Solutions wowed the children with their inspirational music assembly this week.  Details of the music lessons they offer, together with a booking form, has been sent out by ParentMail today.

Don’t forget coats and wellies next week if the wet weather continues.  We had a lot of bedraggled children this week!  If the sunshine does return, please don't forget sun cream and hats!

Mrs Wooder and Miss Conroy took a team of children to a netball tournament today and they came 4th, well done everyone!

We had a huge turnout for the New Intake evening yesterday – it was great to see both new and some familiar faces.

The NSPCC came to school and gave their ‘Speak out Safe’ assembly on Tuesday and the character, Buddy, helped the children’s learning with its clear and important message.

The Friends have worked hard for the last three days welcoming the children to their Father’s Day stall, thank you.

Thank you also to 3 Mondrian for your informative assembly about Extreme Explorers. You have learnt a lot and presented it very well.

Have a great, hopefully dry, weekend.

Alison Harvey
