Dear Parents

We have had a week of interesting trips into the community for lots of children this week.  How lovely to be out and about in the sunshine!

St Christopher’s Care Home

Year 4 have been visiting St Christopher’s Care Home this week and asking the residents questions about their experiences of living in Northampton.  It was lovely to see them listening intently and see the joy on all their faces.  The staff at St Christopher’s are very welcoming and shared that the residents had really enjoyed meeting their young visitors.  We have just seen that there is a lovely picture of the children with the residents in yesterday’s Chronicle and Echo.

Synagogue

Year 2 had a very interesting trip to the synagogue in Northampton this week.  They listened carefully and learnt lots of interesting facts with some children trying on a prayer shawl and Kippah.

Arrows

18 Year 4 and 5 children took part in a new sport this week - arrows!  They participated in a competition against 65 other teams, showing great teamwork and determination.  The children focused really well on hitting the target with their arrows at Benham Sports Centre.

Extreme Reading Challenge

Mrs Tasher is looking forward to some interesting pictures after half term of children reading in extreme locations.  I’m going to find a good book and do some extreme reading myself!

Little visitors

Can you check the children’s hair over half term for any unwelcome little visitors please as there have been several seen in EYs, Y3 and Y6.  There are a variety of easy to apply lotions and combs available in any chemist.

Mrs Wise’s class assembly was a lovely way to end the half term.  They sang the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff energetically and told the story beautifully.

Have a great half term holiday.

Alison Harvey
