The pond

We had an amazing time walking around the pond this morning.  I found the old footpath and came out covered in grass and teasles.  I’m going to upload the photo’s on a blog this weekend.  As you will see it is quite overgrown, which makes for a great adventure however it needs a bit of TLC.

HELP please!

We are looking for some willing volunteers who would like to spend next Thursday morning (01.10.2020) giving the swale (pond) a bit of a makeover.  You will need a mask for entering the building and signing in and your own tools if you have them – a petrol strimmer would be brilliant. The office will provide tea and Jason and will provide bacon sarnies! Save the date and come along you are all welcome in a socially distanced fashion.

Covid -19

It is your responsibility to keep a child off and get them tested if they have either a high temperature and a persistent dry cough or loss of taste and smell.  Please let us know the result as soon as possible if it is positive and if it is negative, forward a copy of the result to the office, and send your child back to school.  Please follow NHS guidelines if you need to know how and when to isolate and when to get a test:

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/when-to-self-isolate-and-what-to-do/

Children may not display strong symptoms but could be carrying the virus, which can transfer to others including our staff and their families.

Crowding outside the school

Please can we remind people that when you are in the local area to remember social distancing is not just for school.  Quite a large gathering of children and adults was witnessed outside school this week.

Drop off zone

We need to make sure no-one parks in the drop-off zone, only those with a blue badge should be parked there as we need to keep it safe for those on foot during Covid-19.

Lily - Kate

Congratulations to Lily-Kate in Y5 who has been selected for the 2020/21 Northamptonshire Football Association's Girls Talent Pathway squad – well done this is really impressive!

Chloe Brown from the centre writes:  This is an excellent achievement for Lily-Kate and will allow her to train alongside other talented girls in the county.  As the only official FA Licensed centre in Northamptonshire we feed directly into England squads with a number of our players having attended England camps in previous years. We only accept 7-8 girls per age group and so the challenge to get a space is very high.

Termly Learning Conferences (TLCs)

All TLCs in the Autumn term will be held via video link where you will sign up for sessions.  This will be part of our normal booking system.  Y6 TLCs will be held in October and the rest of the school in November.

This week’s virtual assembly by 4 Milhazes

Thank you 4 Milhazes for your interesting virtual assembly today. I am enjoying learning about our class artists from around the world and what influences them.  It’s great to see the children inspired to study their artists style and produce their own interpretations to a high standard.

Fundraising for MacMillan Cancer Support

Thank you Mrs Burrows for organising the Annual MacMillan Cancer Support socially distanced Coffee Morning event where she raised over £200 with the school staff.  Miss Heycock was the lucky winner of the extraordinary cake baked by Mrs O’Hanlon.  Thank you everyone and thank you to the MacMillan Cancer Support nurses who do such important work.

Have a lovely weekend

Alison Harvey
