Library and Class Book Recovery

We were wondering where the books had gone and remembered we had sent a lot home at the start of lockdown!  Please could the children return them to their current year group teacher who will pass them to the previous year group and we will sanitise and quarantine them.

From Monday,  Early Years and Year 1 will send books home which must be returned by Friday to be quarantined for 48 hours over the weekend with a sanitising spritz ready for the next week.

We understand that some children find it difficult to read Bug Club stories online, however, they are at the child’s level and they can still enjoy listening to them.

Boys on scooters

There have been some boys cycling and on scooters on Ellis Way getting very close to the cars.  They are deliberately driving at the cars and swerving away.  Please can you speak to the children about road safety if they play on bikes in this area after school?

4 Wiltshire

This morning all the children were treated to an assembly by 4 Wiltshire about their class artist.  We were all very impressed and learnt a lot about the artist and you can see it too on the Y4 blog.

Parent View

Just a reminder that if you get a moment at the weekend for you and your partner to pop on the Ofsted Parent View to complete the short survey about the school.

On the Ofsted survey is the following question:  ‘Q5 The school makes me aware of what my child will learn during the year’.  Several parents were unclear about what their children were learning and I wanted to remind you that you can find lots of information on the website with much of the information on the blogs.  We also uploaded the curriculum forecasts at the bottom of the blog page.  You should also be able to find your child’s information evening PowerPoint about this year’s class. Go to the website and click on the ‘Our School’ drop down and you will see the blogs link where you can find your child’s class.  I hope you enjoy looking at them and find them informative.

Nut Free

Another reminder that we are a nut free school because we have several children with severe nut allergies.  Please don’t send any food in packed lunches that contain nuts. Thank you.

Mask for office

If you are visiting the office can you remember to wear a mask please.

Twitter

Keep an eye on Twitter because I often tweet exciting things that are happening around school.  This week Y2 created an incredible display inspired by their class artist Mademoiselle Maurice out of origami.  It’s well worth a look.  We are @BridgewaterPrim and our twitter feed appears on the website.

Reception

Next week Reception are joining the drop off times for in the N-Y3 phase or at their siblings drop off time.  You will receive an email with the times and a few other bits of important information.  Everyone is doing really well at spacing out at drop off and making the staggered starts work well.

Have a great weekend and keep safe.
