Dear Parents

This week has gone smoothly and people often comment on how calm the school is.  I am so impressed with the children who have a great positive attitude focused on their learning and they are quickly picking up from where they left off.  Year 6 come in on their own and fall into a 2m distanced line near their friends without prompting.  If you are in any doubt about the return to school and your child is in Nursery, Reception, Year 1, Year 6 or the key worker groups, come in and have a look around as this can be reassuring for both parents and the children.

We are looking forward to seeing the other half of Reception and Year 1 next week and hearing all your news.

We haven’t stopped thinking about our children at home, our Year’s 2 - 5 staff are planning for Seesaw, and communicating as often as possible; however, many of the teachers are now also teaching bubbles of 15 children in school and may not communicate as frequently as before.

Mrs Douglas showed me Seesaw this morning where a child in Year 3 had been inspired by his sketching activity based on a Rob Biddulph’s ‘How to Sketch’ to tweet Rob himself, who responded and liked his sketch.  I bet that put a smile on Clark’s face.

Key worker drop off

Please be aware if you have a key worker child in the Reception bubble, they can be dropped off at the main Early Years door next week and go straight inside and similarly they can be collected at the same door after school.

If your child is in the Year 1 keyworker bubble you can walk anticlockwise around the building to 2 Matisse where Mrs Range, Mrs Hinde and Miss Peal will be waiting for you and continue around the site in the anti-clockwise direction as per maps attached last week which can also be found on the website.

The Year 2 – 5 key worker bubbles should still be dropped off and picked up at the hall door and they will go straight through to their classrooms.  If you have also children in Reception or Year 1 please drop them off first and then walk around to the hall, following the one-way system.

Important SAFETY message

Please be aware that a man indecently exposed himself to some children in the pocket park near to school/Abington Vale Park.  Please ensure that your children are not alone in the park at any time.  The police are aware.

School Lunches

Can you please remember to bring any packed lunches to school in a disposable throw away bag to reduce cross contamination.

Well done everyone for keeping up with the latest arrangements, as they change we will adapt ensuring we keep risks reduced to a minimum.

Have a good weekend.

Alison Harvey
