Dear Parents

We had two lovely carol services in the Church of St Peters and St Pauls this week.  Y3 performed so well in the beautiful setting and their voices soared to the rafters.  We thank Anne Quinn who attended the service on Tuesday and Reverend Jun Kim for making Bridgewater so welcome.

We had the Y6 soiree on Monday where we heard some glorious singing and were able to view their WW1 home learning exhibits, which showed great skill and compassion.

Yesterday both our KS1 and KS2 choir went to sing at St Christopher’s Care Home in the afternoon.  The residents absolutely loved it and sang along with the children.  There were four ladies who were one hundred years old this year in the audience and it was heart-warming to see the resident’s smiles and high spirits.

After school, we held our Carols in the Green in the hall!  The lights were dimmed and the tree lights and lanterns twinkled in the darkness.  Miss Jones played her oboe for us with expertise and kept us in time along with Mrs Holding who encouraged us to sing with gusto!  We welcomed Colyn and Kathryn Biddle as we sang Sue Biddle’s favourite carol and remembered how she helped us all and set up the singing outside in her flowery wellies.  We also welcomed our local residents along who sang with us and smiled as the children jingled bells along to …  Jingle Bells.

We finished off this term with the annual Staff Panto.  Thank you to Mrs Holding for writing the panto and to the staff who performed it with such aplomb! J
