Today Year 4 followed their designs and created 3D prototypes of what they would like the swale to look like. They used shoeboxes as the base and used various materials to represent areas of the new habitat. Before beginning their creation, they discussed which materials and equipment would be best to use for their prototype. They applied their Design & Technology skills by cutting and joining in order to create 3D structures in their shoe box. Throughout this process, the children referred to the characteristics of an engineer and it was wonderful to see them trying to use a positive mindset to overcome barriers. They worked well in teams and bounced ideas of each other. Great job Year 4!
