Today we visited the swale. We had a great time lifting up wood, peering into bushes and spying on the interesting animals. We were so surprised to see slugs, spiders, dragonflies, lily pads, moths, frogs and even some newts. Who knew that the swale was a habitat for so many creatures? After we had a good hunt around we headed back to the classroom to sketch what we had seen. We learnt four different sketching techniques, stippling, hatching, cross-hatching and circulism.
