This week we had a visit from a theatre company for a Samuel Pepys workshop. We learned about The Great Fire of London and how Samuel Pepys had kept a diary with lots of important historical information about the events of the fire and how they tried to fight the fire. We have also […]
We had a lovely walk through Abington Park earlier this week when we had our trip to the church and collected lots of Autumn leaves. On Friday the children drew the leaves using a variety of lines of different sizes, thickness and shapes. Some children also challenged themselves to also make patterns and textures in their […]
This week Year 2 have visited St Peter and St Paul’s church for a ‘Harvest Experience’. We had a very interesting time learning all about Harvest through different activities. We are looking forward to all the children returning to school and starting their new classes. We will update our blog regularly about our exciting learning adventures this year. 🙂
We have enjoyed our first day. We explored our Wellbeing Rainbow. Can you remember all of the sections? We have stopped to really take notice and appreciate our surroundings by making observational drawings in the playground. Cross your fingers for fine weather tomorrow. Don’t forget it’s Sports Day! Year 2 timings are 11.15 – 12.00.

The children loved their visit to the ‘Smoothie Bike’ and really enjoyed watching staff pedal the bike to power the blender. We were shown a range of different fruits which the children identified. We enjoyed a smoothie made from banana, apple juice, orange juice and berries.

The children have had some super ideas to plan a range of animal and insect houses. They have used their learning from researching micro habitats to think about the conditions and think about the materials they would need to build their designs. We have used our mathematical skills to make large 3D nets to […]
We have been busy researching habitats and presenting our findings to the class. The data we collected from our field visit to the Swale has been presented as bar graphs.
