What a lovely way to start off this summer term with our new theme ‘It’s a Wild World’. The children sat and listened beautifully to ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle, and after they were all amazed to have received a parcel in the post. As the parcel was opened, they were surprised to see two pots containing very small caterpillars. Over the next couple of weeks, the children will be observing each caterpillar in the discovery zone to see the different transitional changes it will go through until it blooms into a butterfly. They have even challenged themselves to research different facts about caterpillars and their different life stages, by accessing various books. With so much excitement on what will happen to the caterpillars, I’m sure they will be keeping you up to date.
